Richard Ofshe PhD., Professor of Sociology at the University of California at Berkeley has worked on and testified in more coerced statement and false confession cases than anyone in America (testimony in over 315 cases in 37 states, Federal Courts and military courts), including cases such as the Phoenix Temple Murder, the West Memphis three, The Norfolk Four, The Central Park Jogger and on behalf of hundreds of innocent, indigent victims of police misconduct. His analysis of interrogation influence was drawn upon extensively by the Mass. Supreme Judicial Court in their now famous decision in DeGambattista (2004).
