Thomas W. Young, MD
Thomas W. Young, MD a board-certified forensic pathologist and a private-practice forensic pathology consultant from Kansas City, Missouri, received his Doctor of Medicine degree from the Loma Linda University School of Medicine in 1980. He trained in anatomic and clinical pathology at the Loma Linda University Medical Center in Loma Linda, California, and in forensic pathology at the Office of the Medical Examiner in Fulton County (Atlanta), Georgia. Dr. Young has served as a hospital pathologist for the United States Air Force; as a medical examiner for both Fulton County, Georgia, and the Division of Forensic Sciences of the Georgia Bureau of Investigation; and as the chief medical examiner for Jackson County (Kansas City), Missouri. He has taught for two medical schools and is the former director of an accredited training program in forensic pathology. Dr. Young's preoccupation for his entire career has been in trying to answer two questions for himself: How do I know when I know, and how do I know when I do not know?
